Paste is Special

Versatile functions

If the data you brought into Excel comes through as text rather than numbers, Paste Special can fix it.

1. Go to an empty cell.
   
2. Copy it
   
3. Select the "corrupted" data.
   
4. Go to Edit>Paste Special and choose Add.

This works better than multiplying by one. Empty cells remain empty
